Hey there, John! Thanks for stopping by planDisney to ask your question.
I am an annual passholder, too. I am super excited to get to the Walt Disney World theme parks in November to try out Genie+.
Currently, Annual Passholders can add
Disney Genie+ on the day that they plan to go to the park, beginning at midnight EST on the MyDisneyExperience mobile app. You can add it anytime that day, even after you have entered the parks. My plan is to watch the wait times leading up to my trip and then deciding if I truly want to purchase it each day, or just for 1-2 days while I am there.
When I was just in WDW at the beginning of October, I found that they standby lines were never more than a 40-minute wait, and often the posted wait time was less than what we actually waited. For example, I was pleasantly surprised to find Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance posted a 40-mimute wait (which would absolutely be worth it). I started my phone stopwatch upon entering the queue, and we were entering the first part of the attraction in 22 minutes.
Leading up to your trip, if you haven’t updated the
MyDisneyExperience app on your mobile device, do it asap. Then, check out Disney Genie. It will let you select your top attractions, add where you’d like to eat, and even help you book Enchanting Extras that are available. This is supposed to assist you to have the best day possible, and it is free! I seriously can’t wait to check this new feature out.
I hope this helps with planning for your upcoming vacation for
The Most Magical Celebration on Earth! The castle looks stunning, and I loved hunting for the Fab 50 golden statues.
Happy Traveling,
Tracy
