Does an annual pass holder have to have a park reservation to join a virtual queue

    Hey there, Stephanie!

A warm welcome back to planDisney and thank you for bringing us another great Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. I'm so glad to hear you're still an Annual Passholder! I hope that being a Passholder has continued to provide you with many magical experiences and memories over the years. I'd be happy to help you continue making the most of your Annual Passholder status!

Stephanie, at the time of writing, Annual Passholders are still required to make theme park reservations for the theme park they intend to visit first on any given date. That means that, currently, Annual Passholders will need to secure a theme park reservation for Magic Kingdom Park to join the virtual queue for Tiana's Bayou Adventure or TRON Lightcycle / Run or have a reservation for EPCOT to join the virtual queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. When it's time to join a virtual queue, everyone in your party with eligible admission and a theme park reservation for the park in which the attraction is located should show up as "eligible Guests" when you confirm your party during the virtual queue registration process. So, only Annual Passholders with theme park reservations for Magic Kingdom Park or EPCOT should show up as "eligible Guests" for both parks' respective attractions.

Alternatively, if you'll be starting your day at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park or Disney's Hollywood Studios, you'll be able to "hop" to Magic Kingdom Park or EPCOT later in the day for another chance to experience the virtual queue attractions. Another "drop" of virtual queue spots happens at 1:00 p.m. daily, but Guests must be physically inside the theme park housing the attraction to secure a virtual queue at that time. Finally, on select dates, Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT offer extended evening hours for Guests of Deluxe Resort hotels, Deluxe Villa Resorts, and other select hotels. On these days, eligible Guests will have one more chance to join the virtual queue at 6:00 p.m.!

Stephanie, I hope these details help you to prepare for a wonder-filled day at the Walt Disney World Resort. If you have any additional questions before or during your vacation, you're always welcome to stop back by planDisney again! We're all ears.

    See ya real soon,

    Lauren
