Welcome to planDisney, Alan! We are so glad you are here with your question for us!
Oh boy! I must say if you have to miss your theme park reservation for a Disneyland day, you definitely had the perfect excuse. Congratulations on the newest Mousketeer in your family! Unfortunately, I do not believe Disneyland waives the missed
reservations. However, I wouldn't be worried until you make it a habit to book and then be a no-show to your reservation. As a
Magic Key holder, you would need to be a no-show three times in a 90-day window before you are blocked out for a 30-day period. Hopefully, this is your first strike and have nothing to worry about. For future reference, you can cancel that reservation up until 11:59 p.m. PST the day before your reservation.
Depending on what Magic Key pass you have, you may be blocked out during the holiday season. However, if you are somewhat local I wouldn't miss out on a chance to enjoy the Downtown Disney District and Disneyland Resort Hotels during the holidays. Did you know for the first time this year, it even snows in the
Downtown Disney District? I love strolling through the hotel lobbies like Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa to see the gingerbread house and decor.
Alan, congrats again on becoming a grandparent! See you real soon!
Carrie
