    I am an annual pass holder and DVC member. We are coming down in July and staying with friends off property. Can I still drive to home resort Saratoga Springs and get through guard gate to show my son the property? What about swimming? Thanks.

    I know your friends will love having you with them as you enjoy your time at Walt Disney World!!

    I have good news and not so good news.

    The good news, yes, you absolutely can drive to Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa to show your son the resort.  We were there in May and there was quite a bit of construction.  You might check with the Cast Member at the gate and ask about the current construction and if they have any suggestions on the best route to maneuver throughout the resort.

    The not so good news is that you will not be able to use the pool.  I pulled the following information directly from the Disney Vacation Club Member website so that you could see the policy regarding the resort pools.  I also called and confirmed the information with a Cast Member at Saratoga Springs.  "When staying on your Membership at any Disney Vacation Club Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort or Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, you and any Guests staying with you are permitted to use most of the other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools (in addition to the pool at the resort hotel at which you are staying) if they are not at capacity."  Because you are not staying on property using your Membership, pool hopping is not allowed.
