Hi there, Eugene!
You will typically receive a postcard in the mail from the Walt Disney World Resort advising you of your upcoming
Annual Pass renewal options. If you don't receive one, you can log into the
Annual Pass section of the Walt Disney World website for information on how to renew.
Annual Passes can be renewed up to 60 days before or up to 30 days after your expiration date, and you receive a discount when you renew! But, whether you renew by your expiration date or any time up to 30 days after, your renewal pass will still expire 12 months after your original expiration date. Unfortunately, there is no option to delay your renewal for several months like you mention.
A great alternative to renewing your current
Annual Pass could be to upgrade your 10-day Park ticket to an
Annual Pass. Simply bring the ticket to any
Guest Services location at one of the four major Theme Parks or to Downtown Disney; they will check the ticket for you and let you know the cost to upgrade. This could actually end up saving you some money on the renewal price if you've got at least four days remaining on the ticket.
Thanks so much for stopping by the Moms Panel, Eugene, and I sure hope this helps! Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can help with any additional questions you have.
Wishing you and your family a Pixie Dusted vacation!
