Hello there, Shirley! Welcome to
planDisney, and thank you so much for bringing us such a thoughtful question.
Annual Passes are such a wonderful way to enjoy the magic of
Walt Disney World all year long, and I completely understand wanting to make sure your expiration date lines up with your plans.
When it comes to renewals, the important thing to know is that the start and expiration dates remain tied to your original pass. So if your current Annual Pass expires on the 14th of the month, renewing it with the renewal discount will simply extend your pass for another year beginning the very next day. Unfortunately, there’s no way to shift that renewal date to the end of the month or to another date of your choosing while still taking advantage of the renewal pricing.
That said, you do have another option if changing the timing is important to you. Instead of renewing, you could allow your pass to fully expire and then purchase a brand-new Annual Pass on the date that works best for you. This would reset your expiration cycle to match your new purchase date. The only trade-off with this route is that you would no longer qualify for the discounted renewal rate. If you do this, you’d be purchasing the pass at the standard price. Please note that you would have to wait one more month to purchase your new pass, since renewals are honored 30 days past your original expiration date.
Shirley, I know that’s probably not the perfectly magical flexibility you were hoping for, but I hope this helps you feel clear on your choices moving forward. Many Guests choose to keep their original renewal date to take advantage of the savings, but if adjusting your pass to line up with your calendar is the bigger priority, the option to let it lapse and start fresh is always available to you.
Wishing you a year ahead filled with pixie-dusted park days, unforgettable memories, and plenty of magic no matter which path you choose!
Warm hugs,
Ana Paula
