When should they announce the 2016 rates and do they give you a heads-up ahead of time so you know when you can start booking your trip? We are going in January and I want to make sure I book it as soon as they allow. Thanks!

    Hi Kelly,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  How exciting that you're planning a Walt Disney World vacation for January!  I can't think of a better way to start the new year than a visit to see Mickey and his pals.

I have some great news to share!  Room-only reservations for Disney Resort hotels can always be made up to 499 days in advance simply by calling (407) W-DISNEY (934-7639), which means you can get that booked for your trip NOW.  Hooray!  Even though 2016 rates and packages aren't yet available, you will have exactly the dates and room you want for your trip.  In addition, you'll be all set to make those oh-so-important dining reservations when the 180-day mark arrives soon.

In past years, the new year's pricing and packages have been released (and available online) around late July or early August, so I'd just watch for those on the website then.  Once that happens, just give that reservation number a call again for final rates and to add on any extras you might want (like theme park tickets and the Disney Dining Plan) to convert your room-only reservation into a package.

I hope that helps, Kelly, and wishing you a pixie-dusted vacation!  Please write back if we can help answer any other questions.  We love to hEAR from you!
