    Thank you for visiting planDisney with your great question. I am thrilled to help you plan your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation.

    Ronald, you are correct. The 50th-anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort begins October 1, 2021. This EARidescent celebration will run for a full 18 months — giving all of our magical Guests plenty of time to come celebrate with us! 

    At the present time, we do not know when face coverings will not be required at Walt Disney World Resort. Recently, rules were updated to allow Guests to enjoy outdoor common areas and pool decks without face coverings. You can read more about face coverings by following this link.

    Additionally, I encourage you to bookmark the experience updates page which is updated often. Any changes and updates that occur during the phased reopening of Walt Disney World Resort will be shared on this page.
