Hi, Anne! Our family of 5 can do 2 Disney days after a competition. Wondering about dining plan and best use of time in Magic King. & Epcot those days. Guessing Magic Your Way is best ticket option? Fast Pass? Love any advice for maximizing 2-day fun.

Hi Melody and thanks for coming to me with your great question!
How to maximize two days of fun? My mantra is plan, plan, plan! Here are my top recommendations for making the most of a two day trip:

    • Stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. This will make you eligible for Extra Magic Hours and the Disney Dining Plan. You will also be able to make your FastPass+ selection 60 days ahead versus 30 days for those not staying at a Disney Resort hotel.
    • Secure Park Hopper tickets. Park Hoppers increase your flexibility and make it possible for you to visit more than two parks if you so desire.
    • Design and follow a step-by-step itinerary. If you love to plan and have time before your trip you can do this yourself with some research. My go-to book on itinerary planning is "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World." If you don't have time, you can also subscribe to the authors' website,, and utilize their tools for quickly building an itinerary that can incorporate FastPass+ selections.
    • Secure reservations for a character meal (or two!). Character Dining not only provides you with great food in a fun atmosphere, it also eliminates the need to wait in line for a hug from your favorite mouse, chipmunk, or princess.
    • Remember: you can't do it all. Make sure your plans incorporate some downtime in order to soak up the Magic that surrounds you at the Walt Disney World Resort.

I hope that gives you a good start on planning your two days. If you have more questions, come on back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

    See ya real soon!
