Hi Dana,
I'm so excited to hear that you'll be experiencing a visit to "The Most Magical Place on Earth" with your
grandkids! My husband and I already talk about wanting to do that someday when we're grandparents, and I bet this is a Disney dream come true for you!
As the mama to a Mouseketeer with autism myself, I can tell you that my son really loves
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. While a few of the shows have some bright lights and loud sounds, we can balance those out with peaceful walks among the gorgeous trails where we can experience inspiring wildlife and beautiful habitats. I'm happy to let you know, too, that there are some very helpful services available for
Guests traveling with disabilities. I'd encourage your entire party to stop by Guest Relations inside the theme park to ask about the
Disability Access Service, which is designed for Guests who struggle to wait in traditional queues. While you're there, I'd also ask them about quiet places to go if your grandson is needing a bit of a sensory break.
I hope that your grandkids can all enjoy discovering their inner paleontologists as they run all around
The Boneyard, tackling some challenges and earning cool badges as
Wilderness Explorers, and dancing to the sweet beats of the
Harambe Village Street Band - Burudika as well as some of the other incredible
performers. There are LOTS of wonderful things to do there that give kids the chance to get up and move!
Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Dana, and please come see us again if we can help with anything else. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation with your grandkids!
Missy
