We are going to be at Animal Kingdom on my sons 8th birthday and want to do the Wild Africa Trek. Can I still book it 60 days out even tho he is not 8 yet?

Jambo, Vanessa! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with such a great question!

I can't imagine a better way to celebrate a birthday than with a magical adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth. And celebrating your eighth birthday at the Wild Africa Trek sounds like a wild dream come true! My planDisney pals who have done the Wild Africa Trek always go on and on about how fabulous the experience is and how it is now their favorite Disney experience, and it is on the tippy top of my must-do list. I'm so excited for you and your son and am more than happy to answer your question today.

I think you will be happy to hear that you should have no issues booking the Wild Africa Trek for you and your son online 60 days in advance. As long as he will be eight years old by the day of the Trek and is at least 48 inches tall, he will be able to celebrate his birthday on this incredible safari adventure. Just be sure to read the "Know Before You Go" section of the Wild Africa Trek webpage on the Walt Disney World website for important information, such as how closed-toe shoes are required for the Trek.

If, for some reason, you have any issues booking the Trek online, I recommend calling a Cast Member with Tours & Recreation to book the adventure over the phone.

Don't forget to grab a complimentary birthday button for your son at your Resort hotel's front desk, any Guest Relations location or at most retail locations at the beginning of your birthday trip. And did you know that you can add a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake to your meal at participating restaurants?! When you make your dining reservation at one of these participating restaurants, you will be asked if you would like to add on a cake, and I highly recommend it. We added a dark chocolate Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake to our Tusker House lunch reservation on my daughter's tenth birthday, and the server surprised her with the cake, candles and a card signed by the characters at the end of the meal. The cake was delicious, and it was such a magical moment and the sweetest way to celebrate!

I hope this helps, Vanessa, and I hope your son has the wildest birthday adventure! Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you may have along your planning journey.
