Welcome, Wilderness Explorer, to planDisney!
I’ll be your skipper today and help you navigate this exciting excursion through
Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom has a huge place in my heart. So many family core memories were made here that no visit is complete without a family photo in front of the
Tree of Life.
In my experience, there hasn’t been a rope drop that has ever felt the same. I remember one year being held at the main entrance turnstile and another year by the Tree of Life.  Most recently, I remember being roped off closer to
Pandora. It seems that opening procedures are subject to change depending on the time of year. Keep in mind, there’s also a different area for Disney Resort Hotel Guests to enter for their
early entry hours.  During my last visit, resort guests went left and everyone else stayed to the right. Again, this is subject to change as well.
If rope dropping is a must, your best bet is to plan for an early arrival. Grab a coffee on your way in to fuel up! Or stall and get breakfast at
Satu’li Canteen. The Cinnamon French Toast is served with blueberry cream cheese and passion fruit anglaise, and it is honestly delicious! Actually, funny story, my fellow panelist, Emille, grabbed this meal during our most recent rope drop morning, thinking she would have time to eat it before riding
Flight of Passage. We reached the front of the line before she could finish, so I vividly recall her shoving it in her purse and pulling it out to finish after our ride.
Core Memory for sure! After rope dropping Animal Kingdom and doing what we wanted, we hopped over to EPCOT. We experienced so much all before the afternoon, it was so worth our very early morning.
Terry, I can’t wait to hear all about your busy morning. Have the best visit, and if there’s anything else we can help with, please don’t hesitate to ask.
The wilderness must be explored!
