Does Animal Kingdom still have an opening celebration in the mornings?

Hello Cathy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show is a fabulous way to start a day at the Magic Kingdom. Alternatively, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park believes that the adventures (especially involving animals) are the main attraction in the morning and as such, do not start the day with an entertainment spectacle.

Several years ago, I remember that Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park began its Disney Day with the "Let the Adventure Begin" Welcome Show. That show has sadly stopped running and it may be due to Guests desire to bypass traditional experiences for the animal-related ones.

Attractions such as Kilimanjaro Safaris are best experienced very early in the morning and at dusk since the animals are most active during those times. In lieu of early morning entertainment, I recommend that you make your way to Kilimanjaro Safaris which is still one of my favorite attractions at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

The experience of Kilimanjaro Safaris definitely varies depending on the mood and availability of the animals, but I'd choose Kilimanjaro Safaris over a Welcome Show every time.

    Have a Wild Adventure!
