Jambo, Lisa!
Welcome back to
planDisney! Thanks for stopping by as you prepare to embark on a safari of fun at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Let's discuss some activities you and your husband can enjoy on your upcoming adventure.
Currently, there are no restaurant tours at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. These 15-minute behind-the-scenes sessions have not been offered since before the 2020 resort-wide closure. Fortunately, you can enjoy various
unique activities during your stay at one of
Walt Disney World's most intriguing resorts.
*Wild About Painting. Are you moved by the incredible African-inspired surroundings? Get in touch with your inner artist and paint your very own masterpiece (with the help of an instructor). This experience takes place on Wednesdays at
Jiko - The Cooking Place. All skill levels are welcome! Reserve your spot in advance by emailing WDW.DAKL.Recreation.Reservations@disney.com or registering 15 minutes before class begins. Stop by the front desk for more information and confirm the class schedule and price.
*
Starlight Safari. Set out on an after-dark adventure with your very own night vision device and Cast Member guide! Reserve your seat (through the
Enchanted Extras Collection website) on an open-air safari vehicle for the ride of your life. This is a popular experience, so if this appeals to you, make reservations soon. This tour departs from
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village, a short walk or shuttle ride from your side of the resort.
*African Mosaic Art. Another opportunity for the artist in you! Check the front desk of your resort for location and time, as this activity is not always available. During my spring stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, we ventured to the Kidani Village section to partake.
*Wine and dine. The restaurants at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge are fantastic. Treat yourselves to a special meal at Jiko - The Cooking Place or a sunset dining time at
Sanaa, where you'll savor delectable delights while gazing up on the savanna.
I hope this gives you some ideas for making the most of your October stay, Lisa. Be sure to pick up an activities and recreation schedule upon check-in to see if there are any updates to the offerings above. Before I go, I'll share one final tip!
The Mara may not open for made-to-order breakfast until 7, but starting at 6:30, you can
Mobile Order and pick up a specialty Joffrey's coffee beverage. I'm an early riser, and I appreciate any resort java joint opening before the sun comes up. Thanks again for visiting planDisney, and we'll see ya real soon!
Asante sana,
Betsy
