Hi there Shanna, and welcome to planDisney!
I spend a lot of time journeying between the
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels throughout my research travels for planDisney and often test out and compare the difference modes of
resort transportation in order for us to gain a better picture of what the experience is like for guests who enjoy Resort Hopping! I personally enjoy venturing over to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to enjoy the dining options there and pay my favorite furry and feathered friends a visit and am happy to share with your my strategy as you plan on making your way there from
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort:
- If you're heading over in order to make it to a dining reservation at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village, the quickest way to get there by far is by scheduling a ride on your preferred app to be there within a matter of minutes. Many families choose to use Minnie Van™ Connected by Lyft with its added comfort and whimsy for this trip and it'll be up to you to determine whether this may be worth any additional cost for this and to avoid any drivers with other services who may not be as familiar with Walt Disney World Resort property. Note that as of recently, guests are advised to be prepared to show proof of a valid room or dining reservation for a table service location like Sanaa as they pass through the security gates as the Cast Members there have been often tasked with being strict on those who are unable to do so - even if just being dropped off.
- Taking advantage of the complimentary resort bus transportation is something that I would recommend if you've got some additional time, as this currently does not operate directly between your destinations and therefore requires a transfer along your journey. The shortest trip that I've personally tested out involves taking a bus from Disney's All-Star Movies Resort to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and switching to a bus headed for Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. (Just be aware that you might have to do a little bit of trekking between these buses due to the layout of where each waiting area and drop-off locations are situated!) The buses departing from Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park will often first stop at Kidani Village first before continuing onward to Jambo House so it's always important to let the driver know where you're headed as you board or listen carefully for the stop to be called out on arrival.
Hope that this helps, Shanna! As an added tip, I highly recommend stopping by
Johari Treasures located just off the Kidani Village lobby, for your chance to snag the delicious Zebra Domes that can be found in the refrigerated cabinets like little morsels of chilled treasure to enjoy during your visit.
Wishing you the best on your Walt Disney World Resort wanderings and happy hopping!
