Jambo Samantha,
Welcome to planDisney! Isn't it magical planning a vacation with little Mouseketeers?! I just returned a few weeks ago from traveling with my two-year-old and two-month-old, and boy, was it memorable. My two-year-old is a veteran visitor to Disney, and each time she visits, it is more exciting. My infant was more just along for the ride, but it sure was a fun way for him to experience the world!
Thank you for your question! There is nothing quite like having to get multiple little ones ready for bed (or the day), especially when it comes to bathing routines and having an anti-slip mat is a real asset. I spoke to a Cast Member named Raquel, and she told me that a limited number of anti-slip mats are available upon request. To request one, call the Front Desk when you arrive in your room at
Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Mousekeeping will drop one off if they have one available! Another thing I did want to let you know is that while most rooms have a shower/tub combination, some rooms only have a walk-in shower option. I highly recommend that when you check in, just confirm with the Cast Member that your room has a tub. It doesn't happen often, but I have had an experience or two where I checked in, went to the Theme parks, and didn't think to look until I was exhausted and trying to put my little into the non-existent tub.
I hope this was helpful, Samantha! Before I let you go, I cannot recommend enough the
Baby Care Centers to you. During our trip last month, I needed to nurse my infant, and my toddler needed a break, so we headed into the center at Animal Kingdom (located near the
Creature Comforts Coffee Shop), and it was the best decision I made. We got to cool down; I could nurse my son, and my toddler watched a movie and played with the other littles, escaping the heat. I'll end by saying that if this is your first trip with two littles to Disney World, give yourself grace and be flexible. We did not get nearly as much accomplished as we did when we just had the one Mouseketeer, but that's okay! We found that everyone was happier when we took advantage of the playgrounds, took breaks at the resort hotel pool, and prioritized our must-dos. If you need any additional help please come back and see
me. I'm still new to this mom of two stuff, but I'm happy to share any of my lessons learned from Walt Disney World with an infant and a toddler.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
