At the animal kingdom hotel what are the differences in rooms in a standard room will you be able to observe the animals from your room

Hi Lynne - great name :),

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question, this time about my absolute favourite Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!

In a Standard View (or Pool View) Room, you unfortunately won’t have a view of one of the 3 savannas that surround your Resort. But, that doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to see them during your stay! During one of our last visits to Walt Disney World Resort, we stayed in a Pool View room but we took the time to roam around the Lodge and look at all of the different animal viewing areas. I actually think that not having a Savanna View room allowed us to see a wider variety of animals because we would go and observe them from all of the different lookout points. When you check in, you’ll receive a map of the Resort that will give you a list of the different animal observation points.

Don’t forget to ask whether night vision goggles are available for you to use during your visit - using them is a really fun and unique experience!  Plus, there is often some african storytelling by the fire (along with some really comfy rocking chairs), so it’s always worth taking a peek at the happenings on Arusha Rock once the sun goes down.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions about your upcoming visit.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
