Hi there, we are going to the animal kingdom and hollywood disney parks soon. I have a 6 year old, a 4 year old and a 2 year old. I am wondering if Disney has a ride switch option?

Hiya, Lubinia! Welcome to planDisney. I am always happy to meet a fellow Georgian here. It won't be long before you and your family head through the gates with Mickey and Minnie welcoming you to the Most Magical Place on Earth. So exciting!

Walt Disney World offers Rider Switch, a great program for parents of children who can't or don't want to enjoy a certain attraction. One adult can wait with your children while the others in your group enjoy the attraction. When that adult returns, you switch who is watching the kids for the other to ride without waiting in the regular line.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this option is available at:

    • Alien Swirling Saucers
    • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
    • Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
    • Slinky Dog Dash
    • Star Tours - The Adventures Continue
    • Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, you can use Rider Switch at:

    • Avatar Flight of Passage
    • DINOSAUR
    • Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
    • Kali River Rapids
    • Na'vi River Journey
To use Rider Switch, arrive with your entire party at the attraction and tell the Cast Members at the entry for the queue you want to use Rider Switch. They will ask who is riding first and who will be in the second group. The group waiting will be given instructions on where to wait. Once the first group enjoys the experience, the Cast Members will direct the second group to access the line. Bibiddi Bobiddi Boo! No one misses out on the fun!

With your littles, there is so much fun for the whole family waiting for you at Walt Disney World Resort. You may want to take a look at the Planning Guide for Parents of Preschoolers and Small Children. It has great recommendations for everything: attractions, character greetings, and dining. Did you know you can also filter the list of experiences for the age ranges of your kids?

You can also call upon the amazing powers of Disney Genie on the My Disney Experience app on the day of your park visit for recommendations personalized to your family. Another helpful tool for your visit: anything that helps with the Florida heat. You may want to check out the planDisney panelists' Top Tips for Staying Cool at Walt Disney World Resort.

I hope you have a magical trip filled to the brim with laughter and memories for a lifetime. Please come back to planDisney. This Georgia girl and the rest of the panelists are here to help make planning a breeze!
