Hi Gail! Welcome to planDisney!
Oh boy, a visit to
Disney’s Animal Kingdom AND Disney Springs all in one day?! Well, color me jealous, Gail! That sounds amazing, so you are in for such a treat! Speaking of treats, I’m all about the snacks on any
Walt Disney World vacation, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom has some of my absolute favorites. While you’re there, be sure to stop by Mr. Kamal’s for the seasoned fries with dipping sauce. Oh my goodness, they are SO good! Another great option is the grilled corn on the cob with African spices from
Harambe Fruit market. It’s a perfect one-handed snack to enjoy on the go!
When you’re ready to head over to Disney Springs, you have a couple of options to get there. Unfortunately, there is no
Walt Disney World bus service between the parks and Disney Springs. However, you can grab a resort bus over to
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and then catch a bus to Disney Springs from there. This may take some time, so I would definitely recommend giving yourself at least an hour if you plan to go this way. Alternatively, you could use a ride share service, like Lyft, to get over to Disney Springs. While this would not be complimentary like the bus transportation, it will definitely be the faster option. I have used Lyft many times while vacationing at Walt Disney World and find it to be a fairly cost-effective and super convenient way to get around!
Now, I simply cannot let you head over to
Disney Springs without talking about
Gideon’s Bakehouse. I’m telling you, Gail, they have the most delicious cookies you will ever have. I like to think of myself as a dessert connoisseur, and I can tell you that these cookies totally lived up to the hype! Ever since I first tried them, I always make time to stop over on each visit to Walt Disney World to pick up a supply to bring home and store in the freezer. But, unfortunately, they are SO good that the supply dwindles pretty quickly, giving me yet another reason to book another Walt Disney World Resort vacation to re-up my supply! So, don't miss your chance to try them out! You won't regret it.
I do hope this answer has been helpful to you. Please feel free to visit us again with any other Walt Disney World vacation planning questions you may have!
Bye for now!
