Hi Donald,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My family is also counting down to a November Walt Disney World vacation, and we just cannot wait to experience some holiday magic in just a few short weeks!
You’ve made an excellent dinner choice, Donald. Boma - Flavors of Africa is one of my very favorite buffets at Walt Disney World, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is spectacular to visit. I highly recommend taking some extra time to wander the resort, see the Savanna, and just take in the beautiful theming. As Gazelle sings in Zootopia: “try everything” at Boma, and eat an extra Zebra Dome for me for dessert, please.
From Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, your Walt Disney World Resort transportation option is the bus, and unfortunately, the buses do not travel from resort to resort. If you wanted to take the bus back to your resort, you would need to first bus to a theme park and then get on a bus to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, which would likely take at least an hour. (You would also want to check park hours to be sure buses were still running from your selected theme park.) Another option is to take a bus from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to Disney Springs, and then travel to your resort via boat, but this will also be time consuming and involve some walking.
I recommend using
Minnie Van Service, Lyft or Uber to travel between the resorts. Minnie Van Service operates through the Lyft app and charges based on distance; a resort Cast Member can assist if you have questions. I think it will be worth the extra cost to travel directly, and it will save you a lot of time.
Have fun counting down to your vacation, and please come back and see us if you have any further questions!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
