Hiya Bria,
Welcome to Star Command, I mean planDisney! When I was little, one of my favorite films was Toy Story. Thanks to Buzz Lightyear, I love that a whole new generation can fall in love with the story that defined my childhood.
Bria, my mission is to help you make your little space ranger’s dreams come true, and I’m not giving up on my mission, so let me check my mission log. Last summer,
Captain Buzz Lightyear was greeting Guests at Disneyland Resort, but it seems on his way to Orlando, he ran into some trouble. Unfortunately, he could only send his toy self to Walt Disney World Resort until he can sort out his transportation hiccups. That said, if you don’t already check out the
Disney Parks Blog for late-breaking news, be sure to bookmark it. If Captain Buzz is planning to make an appearance at Walt Disney World, the news will “break” there. Now I know this isn’t what your son was hoping for, but I hope he can potentially enjoy meeting toy Buzz, Woody, and Jessie in Andy’s backyard in Toy Story Land. Buzz may be found in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park sometimes as well! His exact whereabouts can vary depending on the day, so I highly recommend keeping an eye on the
My Disney Experience mobile app. You can locate all available meet and greets during your visit by selecting the map icon (second choice on the bottom of the screen) in the mobile app. Once the map opens, locate the arrow next to “Wait Times” at the top. Click the arrow and select “Characters.” Next, click the “Show List” option in the right-hand corner and see who is out and about.
Before I let you go, Bria, I have one last must-do for your Space Ranger. Make sure that your son has the opportunity to take on the Evil Emperor Zurg in
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom Park. This ride is one of my favorites at Walt Disney World and is a must-do for any fan of Buzz Lightyear. He will have a blast in the interactive attraction that I’m sure you will be riding it more than once during your visit.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
