Hi, Jenny!
Glad I could help!
If you are departing from your studio at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, by all means try the buffet at
The Wave. It's just a few steps away from your resort and, if you're like us, check-out morning often takes a bit more time than we'd like. Because you have a late flight, you can easily pack up for a day in the park as you pack to check out, which might take a bit more time. As such, you'll be so happy that you can walk to The Wave in a matter of a few minutes.
Last fall, several of my MP buddies, my 11-year-old son and I needed a quick spot for breakfast near The Contemporary, so we dashed into The Wave for the buffet. Not only were we seated immediately, but there was no wait for the buffet, either. There were healthy options mixed in with standard breakfast buffet fare, but what I remember the most are the cheesy grits (I'm a Northern gal...I had no idea how delicious grits could be!), multi-grain Mickey waffles and sweet potato pancakes. Yum.
While the breakfast buffet at Boma is also fantastic, it will take you longer to get there, and the little ones might not be too happy with the delay. If you're looking for a non-park place to spend a few hours that day, you should also consider Downtown Disney. With the World of Disney Store, Once Upon a Toy, the LEGO Imagination Center and Goofy's Candy Company, you could spend hours building, playing and touring this great non-ticketed venue. Before you head to the airport, check out
T-Rex for a fun-filled prehistoric-themed late lunch / early dinner and let the kids run off some steam in the Paleo Zone's interactive displays and hands-on fun.
Send more questions as you put the finishing touches on your plans, Jenny; you know I love to help!
