Hi Andrea~ We are planning a trip to Hawaii and staying at Aulani. Since we are going in 2014, we have to start thinking about banking and borrowing. I have 200 and my brother 150 which will give us a sum of 1050 point to stay. Recommendations?

    Hi, Jennifer!

    Ah...Aulani.

Ever since our stay at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, this past August, each member of my immediate family gets a smile on his or her face at the mere mention of that name. It's such a magical place, I suggest that you stay there for as long as you can!

First, book an Ocean-View Villa; you didn't travel for all those hours to miss the view of the stunning Pacific Ocean, right? Next, decide how many people will need to stay in your villa, and take a look at the floor plans of each of your choices to see how many options you have. Finally, determine the time of year of your stay, so that you can see how many nights, in which sort of villa your 1050 points can get you.

For example, in 2014, an Oceanview Three-Bedroom Grand Villa (after taking the tour, it is now #1 on my Bucket List) can be  yours for a week in Adventure Season can be yours for 868 points; in Choice Season, it is 952 points.

Because of this, if you'd rather stay longer or during either Magic or Premier Season, consider a Two-Bedroom Ocean View Villa. Even during Premier Season, a week in one of these beautiful villas is only 595 points. This would enable you to stay 12 nights, if you chose to do so.

For us, the perfect number of days to spend would be no fewer than 10, although we managed to see much of the North Shore, the Dole Pineapple Plantation, Pearl Harbor, the USS Missouri and much of Aulani in just 6 days. A few more days would have allowed us to even more, especially after having come so far to visit. (Rent a car while there, as there is so much to see and do both on property as well as throughout the island.)

Send more questions as you think of them, Jennifer; I'll fill you in on all of the details of this truly spectacular resort. As of right now, it's my family's favorite!
