Hi Andrea - we are looking at alternative (something new to us) evening entertainment at Downtown Disney. Would you recommend either AMC Movies (Fork & Screen); or Splitsville? What is the food like, at either venue? Thank you!

    Hi, Susan!

    Great question!

My husband and I recently enjoyed a date night at Downtown Disney, and we decided to catch a movie at AMC Movies at Downtown Disney 24. While my husband and son had seen a movie or two there, neither he nor I had done so at Fork & Screen Dine-In Theaters...I am so happy that that is no longer the case!

The entire experience was wonderful, including securing tickets and seats online. We arrived 30 minutes prior to showtime and placed our order: Truffle Parmesan Fries as an appetizer (YUM!) an orange Coke and a glass of chardonnay. There is nothing like this near where we live, so each one of these...in a movie theater...was a treat!

My husband ordered Tuscan Pepperoni Flatbread Pizzetta (delicious) and I tried the Steakhouse Prime Rib Griller (sliced prime rib topped with crispy onion straws, Parmesan peppercorn aioli and melted pepper jack cheese on Texas Toast. So, so good.) For a little extra, I substituted onion loops for chips, which were very tasty.

Whenever we needed anything, we just pressed the attendant button at our table and our server was back quickly. This was such a different way to enjoy dinner and a move...and we spent about the same amount of money as we'd have spent in a movie theater at home on popcorn, soda and candy! For more information about your choices, just search Fork & Screen Orlando menu, where you'll find a link to the entire document.

We haven't yet dined at Splitsville Luxury Lanes, but I know that many of my Disney Parks Moms Panel buddies have; Anna S. was there just last week and would be happy to share her dining experience, so send her a question to hear more.

Have fun choosing, Susan! Enjoy your deliciously different night at Downtown Disney!
