Andrea, HELP! Not much time to decide. We are DVC. Check in 3/28. Need to either add dining plan or buy TIW card. Card cost, how does it work? Where can we use it? We have 5 adult/1 kids meal plan. Older kids able to order off kids menu? Quick service? Thx

    Hello, Laurie!

I'm going to tell you right from the start that I am a fan of the Dining Plan!  However, I also have the Tables in Wonderland Card due to my Annual Passholder status.

As an Annual Passholder, my Tables in Wonderland Card was discounted by $25, which brought the cost down to $75 for a one year membership.  This card entitles the Tables in Wonderland Member (and up to 10 guests in the party) a 20% discount on all food and beverages, including alcohol, at participating Walt Disney World Table-Service restaurants.  I've used this when the Dining Plan wasn't an option (used toward our entire bill) and when ordering items that are not included in the Dining Plan (appetizers, salads, wine) and it's been great! Many, but not all, of your favorite WDW Table-Service restaurants participate in this plan, but you should call (407) 566-5858 for an updated list.  Quick-Service restaurants do not participate in this program, however.

Regardless of whether we've been on the Dining Plan, using the Tables in Wonderland Card or just paying cash, we've never had a problem with an older child ordering from the children's menu.  If you're unsure, ask your server at your Table-Service restaurants what he or she recommends; they are always so insightful and resourceful, too!

Whatever your decision, I'm sure that you're going to have a wonderful stay in Walt Disney World! Be sure to send any additional questions as you think of them! I'd love to help!
