Hi Andrea! We are going to Disney in August and are debating between the quick service and table service dining plan. Can we still switch a TS credit for 2 QS credit? My husband wants a more relaxed trip and does not want to be over scheduled. Thanks!

    Hello, Rebecca!

If you are planning on eating at any of Disney's fantastic Table-Service restaurants during your upcoming stay, then I highly recommend the "basic" Dining Plan, which offers one Quick-Service, one Table-Service and one snack per person per night of stay.  Of course, you get the added benefit of getting one resort-refillable mug per person as well, with either plan.

Now, you MAY use a Table-Service entitlement for a Quick-Service meal, but it's a one-for-one exchange (not two QS for one TS). While this used to be on the Dining Plan PDF, I checked and could not find it at this time. A Cast Member at Disney Dining checked for me, however, and this is the case at this time.

Keep in mind that your Table-Service entitlements can be combined for dining at a Signature Restaurant, which might give you the night off, so to speak, from a formal meal on a different day.  We also often book a late lunch with our TS entitlement, so that we're not rushing out to an early breakfast and are ready for a great meal by the time our late lunch time arrives. After that, we have the day and night to ourselves and our own schedules, and can use our Quick-Service entitlement when we  feel like it. Somehow, days like these always seem so much more relaxed to us; you might want to give it a try!

Check out the various menus either on Disney World's site or at the unofficial site allears.net. Many of our favorite restaurants offer the same favorites whether it's lunch or dinner, so the value of the plan is still there.

Send more questions as you think of them! I'd love to help you plan the most relaxing trip to Walt Disney World, while making use of whichever Dining Plan you choose!
