hi Andi, my family is taking their first cruise this August, and my 6 yo son is just learning to swim. I was wondering if the water slides are safe for a child who is not a strong swimmer? Thanks!

    Hey, Beth!

Congratulations on your upcoming family's vacation aboard Disney Cruise Line -- you are going to wonder why you've never cruised with Disney before now!

All the slides on the ships "land" in shallow water...not like some of the ones at the water parks which end up in a deep pool.  In fact, the water is not much deeper than a few inches to a foot at the most.  You can take a look at the various water slides and pools on Disney ships, and your little guy can start planning his "course of action" with the slides.

Remember to pack swimsuits in your day bag so that you can hit the water when you arrive on board on Embarkation Day -- and don't forget a small tube of sunscreen, too. (Save the big bottle for your check on luggage!)

I hope this helps you plan, and I hope you have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
