Hi Andi, I have a lot of anxiety because our middle daughter is highly allergic to latex. She must carry a Epipen at all times as she could die if she has a reaction. Will she be able to enjoy the clubs with confidence she is safe?

    Hi, Sandra!

Please know that the safety of all guests is of utmost concern to Disney Cruise Line. You will need to note your child's allergy (and the extent of it) on your reservation if you haven't done so already.  You can do this online or by calling 800-951-3532.

You probably are keenly aware of potential triggers which may threaten your daughter's health and how to remove them before she makes contact. Yet, a call to your child's pediatrician for advice may be in order. Check the expiration date on your EpiPen and other supplies. Once you're on board, stop by Guest Services to make sure that her allergy was noted and provide any additional information for housekeeping, dining or youth spaces.

The Youth Activities Team is trained on how to avoid allergic reactions in children and what to do in case one happens. They are an experienced and knowledgable staff, and the electronic Mickey Band -- which your daughter will wear on the cruise -- stores all the information about your child including allergies and contact information. Plus, you'll want to talk with the counselors. They will not only give you peace of mind knowing that your daughter will be well cared for but also enjoy the time of her life, too!

There is a doctor and an RN on board for every cruise. They are available during certain times of the day in the Health Center on Deck 1 -- you can check your daily Personal Navigator for exact times. Or, they are on call 24 hours a day.

I hope this helps knowing that your daughter is going to be in good hands while you are not in her presence. This is a huge burden you must carry as a mom, and it's incredibly difficult placing one of your most precious treasures in someone else's charge. You can rest easy knowing that the staff is well trained, experienced and caring.

My prayer is that your vacation is quite uneventful -- have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
