Hi Andi-Going from AKL to Dream via Disney transport. Prefer to arrive early (hoping to switch dinner assignment, explore, start enjoying vacation!). Will I get to choose an early transport time or will hotel simply tell me what time our bus is? THANKS!

    Hi, Kristen!

That sounds like a fabulous vacation you have planned for you and yours! Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favorite resorts at Walt Disney World (WDW), and after having experienced a family voyage onboard the Disney Dream earlier this month, I can tell you that you are in for a treat!

For your Disney Cruise Line motorcoach transportation from WDW, you will be given your pick up time/location once you arrive at your resort. It's a schedule based on how many guests are traveling and where they are located. Because of that, the times vary, but you can usually guess that you won't arrive to Port Canaveral before noon. If you would like to arrive early to Port Canaveral (around 10:30 a.m. when the terminal opens), I recommend taking a private car. It's more expensive in total -- unless you have 5+ in your traveling party.

We have a family of six. Therefore, we prefer a car service which picks us up when and where we want and handles our luggage, too. We actually save money since round-trip motorcoach transportation per person totals more than $400 for us! We, too, like to get to the port before everyone else so that we don't stand in line for security and checking in -- and the first ones on board, get the choice of a restaurant for lunch.  I hope this helps you plan.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
