Hi Andi-Dream trip-yay! On waitlist for main dinner-boo. Do families in 2nd dinner miss special events like pirate party, fireworks etc? Have done 2nd dinner and just doesn't work for my family of early to bed, early to risers! Any tips to get off waitlist

    Hi, Kristen!

After stepping off of the Disney Dream yesterday, I can confidently report that the ship and her cast and crew are ready for you and family!  Yet, don't get too worked up about your second seating assignment. For the first time, I experienced main seating dining last week, and I actually prefer second seating so that my day isn't cut short. Plus, it doesn't interfere with other happenings on the ship because they are offered at staggered times. The only evening which may take some maneuvering is Pirates IN the Caribbean Party night -- you might want to make sure you're dining right at your assigned time in order to get up on deck for the dancing. However, the party does last a good long while, and the fireworks aren't until late in the evening.

If I haven't convinced you to come to the "dark side of dining," you can certainly request to switch your seating once you're on board. More than likely, there will be someone like me who likes to wait until the sun has gone to bed before changing for dinner, and the crew can easily switch places.

I'm even more excited for you with memories of my cruise fresh in my mind! Blessings on you and yours as you plan and anticipate your Disney Dream. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
