Hi, Monica! What a special birthday for your sweet little princess! Our first WDW vacation as a family was for our first child's 2nd birthday, and I certainly remember being a little overwhelmed. However, I would encourage you to enjoy the planning process, too!
Take the dates you're thinking about in July and start by looking at all the options and what
WDW has to offer for your vacation, and make sure you order the
DVD. Then, if she knows about her special birthday trip, get your daughter involved in the planning process by showing her the website and the DVD. My children watch the DVD so many times prior to a vacation that they have it memorized!
In addition, peek at the
Featured Question on the Mom's Panel to see how many of us weighed in on a family's first trip to WDW. There's a
wealth
of information right there! For a 4-year-old little girl, I definitely would make plans to visit the Magic Kingdom for at least a day (if not two), and I would include Disney Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom on her birthday trip, too.
To make the experience extra special, make sure you look into the various restaurants and dining experiences to make those all important Advanced Dining Reservations. Also, you may want to add a little "pixie dust" to your princess' birthday by calling the Dream Makers at
Disney Floral & Gifts at 407-WDW-GIFT. They have all kinds of magical ideas!
Feel free to come
back and ask me more questions. I'm here
to help! Have
an absolutely wonderful time planning your magical vacation!
