Hi Andi- I am taking my 4-year-old daughter to Disney in a few weeks. We have NOTHING planned and I don't know where to start (meals, activities, etc). Where should I start? Is there anything I MUST include on my list?

Hi, Jennifer and thanks for visiting me on the Moms Panel! I wish you and I could sit down with a cup of coffee and plan this trip together!

Let's roll up our sleeves and get you a plan together:

    1. With a little one, you're going to want to see the characters, and the most efficient use of your time is a character meal. Start by calling 407-WDW-DINE to find out when and where you can squeeze in a few of her favorites so that you don't spend time waiting in lines. Remember, that by requesting off times such as a late breakfast or early dinner, you may be able to score even the most popular ones.
    2. With your Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs), make a chart of each day you're there with blocks of time for each. Make notes of when you're meals are planned and confirmation numbers.
    3. Next, take a peek at the calendars for each park to determine park hours, entertainment schedules and Extra Magic Hours (a Disney resort guest benefit). Include these in your notes to make sure you don't miss your favorites and to plan them around ADRs!
    4. Familiarize yourself with the parks by studying the maps.  It cuts down on the confusion when you first enter a park gate if you have an idea of where you're going and how to get there.
    5. Enjoy the planning process by including everyone, and research and plan over the next few weeks to make the most efficient use of your vacation time and money. Yet, make sure you don't obsess over your plans. Disney is known for magical surprises. Let them happen to you!
I have so much more to tell you, and you may have more questions, too! Write me back if you think I can be of further help to you. Meanwhile, have a wonderful day and a most magical vacation!
