Andi, I love the Moms Panel and appreciate the great advice! We are going to stay at Bay Lake as DVC members and dine at California Grill for the first time. Would you recommend that we view Wishes from the restaurant or from the Top of the World Lounge?

Hi, Dannee! Oh, I'm so glad that you enjoy the Moms Panel...we love answering guests' questions about WDW vacations. The only drawback for me is that it makes me long even more for my next trip!

The California Grill is one of my favorite signature restaurants at WDW, and it's consistently ranked as one of the top restaurants in all of Florida -- which is an amazing feat! You are going to love the atmosphere as well as the food and choice of California wines. The California Grill offers a fantastic view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks -- from inside the restaurant or out on the observation deck. (Make sure you try the goat-cheese ravioli appetizer or the "snake in the grass"...BBQ eel!)

Yet, as Disney Vacation Club members, you are probably fully aware of the fact that only DVC members staying at Bay Lake Tower on points can access the members-only lounge, Top of the World (located on the 16th floor). Reservations can not be made, but rather space for the 77-seat lounge is offered on a first-come, first-served basis on any given day. The lounge is not open to BLT guests staying on a cash basis. DVC members wishing to visit the lounge must first check in at a podium located in the BLT lobby, and then, be escorted to the 16th floor.  (Oo, la la!)

Therefore, with all that exclusivity, my recommendation would be to watch the fireworks with family and good friends from Top of the World after a beautiful dinner at California Grill. You can finish off a wonderful evening with a night cap offered at Top of the World! And by the way...we're actually staying at Bay Lake Tower on our next family trip, and I can't wait to visit Top of the World to feel "on top of the world!"

Have a wonderful day and a most magical vacation!
