Oh, Rebecca!
My heart is breaking for you (and me)! I've never been to the Mediterranean either, and I was hoping to see it from the comfort of a Disney ship, too, next year. Yet, with so many home ports to choose from throughout the U.S. and a new ship added to the fleet, I'm looking forward to making next year all about seeing destinations on my "list" which are easier (and more affordable) to travel to from my home. My fingers are crossed that the Mediterranean will return as a DCL itinerary in the near future. Stay tuned to
DisneyCruise.com for the latest information on what to expect next!
For 2012, Disney Cruise Line has plans to keep all four ships close to home:
- Disney Magic -- returning to the Caribbean and the Bahamas during the first part of the year, catering to the Northeast by calling New York City home for the spring and summer, and sailing to the Caribbean from Galveston, Texas next fall.
- Disney Wonder -- making the West Coast its home and calling on the Mexican Riviera, Hawaii and Alaska and the Pacific Coast.
- Disney Dream -- charming guests in the Bahamas on 3-5 night itineraries from Port Canaveral.
- Disney Fantasy -- debuting in March and sailing longer itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral.
So, you see, there are plenty of lifetime cruises to choose from aboard a Disney ship, and the greatest part is enjoying the time spent together getting to your destination as much as actually arriving. Best wishes as you chart a new course for your family, and please let me know if there are other questions I can answer for you. I'd love to be a resource guide for you. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation.
Bon voyage,
Andi
