If you're planning to visit
Magic Kingdom on Monday, October 5, you are good to go. There is no
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party scheduled for that date, which means you won't have to worry about the park closing early to regular day Guests.
In fact, October 5 sounds like a wonderful day to visit if your goal is to experience a full Magic Kingdom day and end it with the nighttime fireworks over Cinderella Castle. On party nights, Guests without a party ticket have to leave the park early, and Happily Ever After is not presented in its normal format. Since that's not the case on October 5, you'll be able to enjoy the park from morning until night and watch the fireworks as part of your regular admission.
As your trip gets closer, I would recommend checking the My Disney Experience app for the official entertainment schedule. Disney occasionally adjusts showtimes, and the app will give you the most up-to-date information on exactly when Happily Ever After is scheduled to begin.
And since this is your first visit, let me give you one little tip. Try to find a spot for the fireworks at least 30 to 45 minutes before showtime if seeing the projections on Cinderella Castle is important to you. The fireworks themselves are spectacular from many places around Magic Kingdom, but the full experience includes the projections, music, and storytelling on the castle itself.
Honestly, I think you've picked a fantastic day. You'll get to enjoy all the Halloween decorations around Magic Kingdom without needing a special event ticket, and you'll still be able to watch one of the most beautiful nighttime spectaculars Disney has ever created.
Leslie, I am so excited for you! There is nothing quite like seeing Cinderella Castle light up at the end of your very first Disney day.
