First of all, I absolutely love that you've set aside two full days for
Magic Kingdom. In my opinion, that's one of the best decisions you could make, especially for a first visit. Magic Kingdom has so much to see and do that having two days lets you enjoy it at a much more relaxed pace without feeling like you're racing from attraction to attraction.
If I were planning your itinerary, I would actually approach each day a little differently. On your first day, I would tour the park clockwise, making your way through Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, and then Fantasyland before ending in Tomorrowland. On your second day, I'd do the exact opposite and head counterclockwise, starting with Tomorrowland and working your way around the park from there. It's a strategy I've used many times, and it helps you experience almost everything while naturally spreading out the crowds you'll encounter throughout the day.
Since you're traveling with both your mom and your 9-year-old nephew, I'd also strongly recommend purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass. It can make a huge difference, especially in August when temperatures are high and wait times tend to be a little longer. Spending less time in line usually means everyone has more energy to enjoy the rest of the day.
One more thing you'll definitely want to keep on your radar is
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which begins on August 7 and takes place on select evenings through October 31. If attending the party sounds like fun, I would purchase your tickets as soon as possible because many dates sell out well in advance.
On the other hand, if you don't plan on attending, I recommend scheduling your two Magic Kingdom days on dates when there isn't a party. On party nights, regular day Guests are asked to leave the park promptly at 6 p.m., so you wouldn't get to enjoy a full day.
