Hi Ana Pau, my family and I are going to Disney and I wanted to ask if it would be worth attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, since it's our first time traveling there, and which park would you recommend visiting first?. hugs

Hi there, Romina! Welcome to my very own corner of planDisney, and thank you SO much for stopping by with your question!

If this is your family's very first Walt Disney World vacation, I am beyond excited for you. There is nothing quite like experiencing the Disney magic for the first time.

As for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, my answer is a very enthusiastic yes! In fact, it's my favorite special event of the entire year. Between the exclusive entertainment, the Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, rare character meet-and-greets, trick-or-treating, festive snacks, and all the incredible Halloween decorations, it truly feels like a completely different experience from a regular day at Magic Kingdom.

If your budget allows, I absolutely think it's worth including in your trip. Just remember that the party requires a separate admission ticket, so purchasing a regular Magic Kingdom ticket for that day will not grant you access to the event.

Now, if you're wondering which park I would recommend visiting first, my answer is almost always Magic Kingdom. There's something so magical about seeing Cinderella Castle, walking down Main Street, U.S.A., and taking in those iconic Disney sights on your very first day. It really sets the tone for the rest of your vacation.

That said, I do have one important recommendation, which is to always check the park hours before finalizing your plans. During Halloween season, Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on select evenings, which means the park closes at 6 p.m. for Guests who are not attending the party. If you don't have a party ticket, I would avoid visiting Magic Kingdom on one of those dates so you can enjoy a full park day.

Romina, your first Walt Disney World vacation is going to be filled with unforgettable memories, and I truly hope Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party becomes one of your family's favorite Disney traditions, just as it has become mine.

    Warm hugs,

    Ana Paula
