Hi Amanda!
Thank you for bringing another great question to planDisney, we appreciate your trust in our advice and we love to see a familiar Guest stop by! As you know, inclusion is a core value at Disney Parks so you and your family are as “welcome as can be” with many accommodations for both those with
mobility devices and those using the
Disability Access Service (DAS).
Nighttime spectaculars are such a magical way to end a Disney day, and I understand wanting to manage expectations of what the experience would be like for both types of accommodations. In researching your important question, I confirmed that DAS is intended to support those who cannot wait in a traditional attraction queue. There is currently no DAS viewing location for the evening shows at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, or Disney's Hollywood Studios. Special viewing areas are available in each theme park for those with a mobility device and their families or traveling parties only. This helps keep the area safe and comfortable for wheelchairs and other devices with limited Guests in a smaller area.
At Magic Kingdom Park, please ask a Cast Member for specifics on the location as this can shift nightly based on many factors or special events. There is a roped-off area for use near Cinderella Castle, in the Central Plaza (known as the “hub”) where wheelchairs and other mobility devices can see the grand show comfortably. Are you
ready to begin.... because my favorite,
“Happily Ever After,” returns on April 3, 2023! This Magic Kingdom viewing area will give you a wonderful perspective of the stunning projections on the castle along with the surrounding sounds of the stirring soundtrack to surely pull on your heartstrings.
With the grand circular shape of the World Showcase at EPCOT, there isn’t as much of a rush for space, but you’ll find a reserved section for mobility devices near
Port of Entry. Please also verify with a Cast Member that evening as things may change with the temporary arrival of “EPCOT Forever,” also beginning April 3, 2023.
Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios,
“Fantasmic!” is shown in the Hollywood Hills Amphitheatre with stadium-style seating to view the incredible show on the stage and in the surrounding water. The specific area for mobility devices is at the top of this bowl-like seating area. You will have a great view without being blocked by others, and an easy-to-navigate exit with less crowds at the conclusion of the show. If you’ve been to the
“Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!”, there is a second accessible seating area down a long ramp to the front of that stadium seating for wheelchairs; I confirmed this is not the same at “Fantasmic!” where you’ll remain up top for a broad view (and not get wet).
Upon the opening of Disneyland, Walt Disney said, “to all who come to this happy place, welcome” and it rings truer than ever today in all Disney Parks and Resorts. I hope this helps your family enjoy the amazing nighttime spectaculars with less stress in understanding what your experience will be like.
Let the wonder take hold,
Amy
