What amount of rain will close Test Track?

    Hey there, Deanna!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping over with an exciting Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. You'll be racing over to The Most Magical Place on Earth tomorrow! Before the flag drops and you take off on your thrilling ride, let's chat about attraction closures due to inclement weather.

Deanna, are you ready to put your design skills to the test? At Test Track, you'll design a customized concept vehicle, then take it through a series of functional "tests" to see how it performs under various conditions. It's one of my family's all-time favorite attractions at EPCOT due to the interactive queue and the final "test" of the experience - speed! While there's no set amount of rain that will prompt this attraction to close, Cast Members will make the call based on conditions such as rainfall, wind conditions, and forecast outlook. Test Track, specifically, is somewhat more vulnerable to inclement weather, as part of the attraction takes place outside the ride building.

Luckily, in my experience, when Test Track is unavailable for a portion of the day, it has reopened to Guests later in the day. Since springtime showers are common in the overnight and early morning hours, my family tends to skip Test Track during early theme park entry, just in case it isn't up and running quite yet. On these days, our strategy is to head to Frozen Ever After first, then race over to Test Track immediately after the theme park opens to day Guests! Another great option is to use Disney Genie+ service to secure a Lightning Lane return window for Test Track for late morning. In this case, I tend to try to avoid mid-afternoon return times on days where an afternoon sprinkle seems likely.

Deanna, I hope you've found this information helpful as you prepare to take off on a terrific test drive at The Most Magical Place on Earth. If you have any additional questions before or during your vacation, feel free to stop off here at planDisney again anytime! We're here to help you enjoy the ride.

    See ya real soon,
