Amber, a co-panelist mentioned you recently stayed at CBR. My family (DH & twin 5 1/2 y/o girls) are booked into CBR (preferred room) 2/17/10-2/24/10. We debated between CBR & POFQ forever. Can you offer any personal feelings/insights regarding CBR

    Hi Holly!

We did stay at Caribbean Beach for part of our stay this past September. I would be happy to give you my thoughts!

The first thing that I'll say is that CBR is absolutely beautiful with lots of tropical flowers and plants. I thought that Old Port Royale was set up really well. There are several different stations that each offer a different menu so there are plenty of choices for counter service meals. The arcade, table service restaraunt Shutters, gift shop and concierge desk are all located here. It was always easy to stop in and fill up our refillable mugs here also.

The main pool is really wonderful. The best part is the kid's play area. It's a big pirate ship with lots of slides and shooting water. The whole area is for younger kids and my two children had an absolute blast! We rarely ventured over to the big pool, but when we did, I really liked that there is a zero entry area for younger kids to play in shallow water.

The only negative things I have to say about CBR are that the check-in desk is a completely separate building which isn't necessarily convenient to anything else. However, there is an internal shuttle bus that will transport you around the resort if needed. Also, since there is a concierge desk in Old Port Royale, you can visit it for help with tickets, dining reservations or room charges. The second negative is the size of the resort. It is absolutely huge and pretty spread out. That shouldn't be a problem for you though since you have booked a preferred room which will put you a very short distance from Old Port Royale.

All in all I really enjoyed our stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort and I would definitely recommend it for a family with children. I hope you enjoy your stay!!
