Hi Amanda, I am a mother of a 2 1/2 year old son and a 6 month old girl. We aren't planning a trip until 2015, but I was wondering if there is anything I should do to get started planning.

    Hi Kristen!

Thank you for your question! I'm so happy to be helping you plan your Walt Disney World vacation!

Even though you're two years out, now is a great time to start doing a few things:

    1. Order a Vacation Planning DVD. Order one each year! They're free, and are a great introduction, and all the new and magical additions will be highlighted in each DVD.Watch the video and take notes on any questions you have. Then, you can come back and visit me here for answers!

    2. If flying, start looking at the flight cost trends from your home airport.Tracking this over time will give you a good idea when to get the best deal on flights!  Also, keep and eye on the Special Offers page at disneyworld.com, and you'll see when you'll be able to get great deals on your Walt Disney World vacation!

    3. READ! I highly suggest Disney Dad Doug's The Complete Idiot's Guide to Walt Disney World. You can pick it up about a year or so before your vacation, and it's updated yearly. By this time you should have a fairly good idea of what time of year you'll be going, where you'd like to dine, etc.

    4. HAVE FUN! I'm a planner and a researcher, so the vacation planning part is one of the most exciting parts for me!

    Have a magical vacation!
