Hi Amanda! I'm considering trip to DL for my family of 5 for Christmas 2013 but wondering about crowds. Is it as crowded as WDW? Will be our first trip to DL. Have been to WDW more times than can count. Thinking of travel dates 12/26-12/30. Thanks!

    Hi there Amy,

The Holidays are such a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort but as you probably know, the week in between Christmas and New Year's is one of the busiest weeks to visit!  This year, Disneyland filled to capacity in the days following Christmas but that doesn't mean you can't have a great time, as long as you plan!

Be sure to arrive at the parks as early as you can...before park opening if possible, so you are among the first to enter!  It's not a good idea to hop from park to park since they can fill to capacity early, so head over to Disneyland Park first each day and plan to stay inside until you're ready to leave that park for good since the park can close to new guests once capacity is reached.  California Adventure is usually open even after Disneyland "closes" so plan to head there second, after you've had your fill of Disneyland.

Disneyland during Christmas is very similar to Disney World in that crowds will be higher than usual and maximum queue times will be in place.  It may be a good idea to plan for a sit down meal in one of the parks to take a nice break mid day or for dinner!

    Best Wishes,

    Amanda F.
