Amanda F, We just got back from our first trip to DL and we`re hooked! If we wanted to see the holiday decor, would it still be up the week after New Years or do we need to go the week before? Are prices still higher the week after New Years? Thanks!

    Hi there Andrea,

The Holidays are my favorite time to visit the Happiest Place on Earth, because believe it or not... it just seems... well, Happier (as if that's possible).  The lights and decorations are so beautiful and you will gasp when you first spy Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle draped with crystal icicles amidst the beautiful Southern California sky.  Not to mention the parades, fireworks and shows that are themed especially for the Holiday Season.  It really is an extra magical time to visit and the week after New Year's is perfect because the crowds will have all gone back to work and school and the attraction queues can tend to be shorter than normal.

The Christmas decorations usually remain up through the week following New Year's and they will begin disappearing around the Friday following New Year's Day.  Depending on when you arrive, I'd say your chances of experiencing Disneyland decked out for the holidays.

The premium holiday pricing tier ends around January 2nd, so I think you'll notice a drop in room and vacation package pricing around that time!

Please keep the questions coming!  It is my pleasure to assist with your planning!
