We have always traveled 1st wk of May in the past and are going to travel Sept 4-10. My ?: Will the crowds be smaller at this time than in May? I hope that smaller crowds will make up for the hotter weather. Help!! I already booked and am not sure about it

    Hi Shannon,

I can understand why you are starting to have second thoughts about switching your normal time to visit Walt Disney World from early May to early September.  My sister's family loves to visit in early May because park attendance at that time has been low, historically, and they love to take in all the park's offerings with short lines for attractions.  However, you are not likely to see the same park attendance rates in early September, especially since the dates you mentioned include Labor Day (September 5th).  Big three-day weekends typically draw significant crowds at the Disney theme parks.  Labor Day weekends are no exception.  I think you'll see the crowds die down pretty quickly after the weekend, but Friday through Monday may be somewhat hectic.

Personally, I'd love to experience Walt Disney World during all four seasons.  The parks take on a new tone and character at different times of the year.   But if your family dislikes crowds, you may want to re-schedule your early September vacation slightly later in the month, or even consider switching it back to your typical week in early May.  Best wishes to you as you consider your options!
