    Always stayed at Grand FL and loved the water taxi to MK. Staying at Contemp this time and wondered if the taxi services there to MK or not. Also, does the Contemp do anything big at Christmas like Grand FL's huge trees, gingerbread house, and carousel?

    Hey Matt! 

    Disney's Contemporary Resort does not offer a water taxi to Magic Kingdom Park.  You can access Magic Kingdom Park via the monorail or simply by walking over to the park.  We prefer to walk over when we're staying at the Contemporary.  It takes about 5-7 minutes and we're at the turnstiles!  The monorail will make several stops prior to arriving at Magic Kingdom so walking is much quicker.  On your way back to your resort, you can take the monorail (Contemporary is the first stop after Magic Kingdom), or take the walkway again.

    The Contemporary is decked out at Christmastime.  A huge Mickey wreath adorns the side of the building, trees and decorations fill the lobby space, and a special gingerbread Christmas tree is erected.  Last year, it was flanked by adorable Mary Blair figures and a little hut for a toy solider.  Gingerbread and other Christmas treats are sold next to the tree.
