I've always dreamed of running a half-marathon at Walt Disney World. The Princess Half-Marathon looks particularly inviting for beginners. However, I live in the northeast where weather can be unkind for runners. What's the best way to train in winter?

    Hi Jill,

I am totally encouraging you to register for the Princess half marathon.  It is such an incredible experience!

I live in Canada so I understand what you mean about the weather.  You can still train in the winter outside...depending on the conditions.  On the days that the weather is bad, you can hit the treadmill, bike, elliptical, rower.  If you don't have access to that type of cardio equipment, then I still suggest you head outside.  You might not be able to run on some days if the snow is heavy, but you can still walk and put some miles in.  Strength training is just as important as the cardio.

If you put your training plan together and follow it....half marathon success is yours!!

After you run your first Disney race, you will be hooked!!!!

I hope this has helped.  Please let me know if you have any other questions, I would be more than happy to help!

Register, start your training and get ready for the experience of your life!!!

    Yours in good health!
