Ahoy, Jennifer!
You'll fit right in with a lot of cruisers who also happen to know Walt Disney World extremely well. I've got to warn you though - this might be a new type of vacation that could be habit forming for you and your family. It is Disney... and they really do know how to do vacations! :-)
Choosing a stateroom is a personal preference and you'll hear different people share their own experiences with you, and that might actually make your decision much tougher (since they might all sound fine). My first choice is always to have a verandah though - I've been on a trip in an inside stateroom and we were all just fine too. Staying concierge was an amazing experience for me and my family - and though I'd love to sail that way all the time, my budget probably won't allow me that luxury on each trip. My husband and I, do love enjoying our morning cup of coffee on the verandah. An early room service delivery has a way of getting everybody up and ready for our adventure for the day. We also have a habit of bringing our own wine onboard and we enjoy a glass in the evening out on the verandah too. Something about breathing that fresh ocean breeze maybe?
On a few of our sailings, we got to see dolphins swim along side us, as we approached the port early in the morning. When my kids were the same ages as yours, it was thrilling for them just to sit on the verandah and enjoy the breeze. Every time the ship pulls out of port, and we've just come back from a full day excursion - it's a favorite place to unwind while getting ready for the evenings' festivities. And yes, enjoying a Mickey Bar with your feet up on that verandah is pretty cool too!
No matter what
type of stateroom you choose, Jennifer -- you're bound to have an awesome Disney Cruise Line voyage!
