Hello! Although several years ago we managed to snag Moonlight Magic tickets, our flight was cancelled and we’ve not been successful getting tickets since then….What is the secret to getting tickets? We have DVC reservations for the 13 Sep event….

    Hey Howdy Hey, Shannon!

Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney! Oh boy! I'm so excited that your Disney Vacation Club Resort reservation coincides with one of the Moonlight Magic Events, specifically the event planned for Disney's Hollywood Studios.  These coveted and very special events really add so much value to Membership, as they are exclusive to eligible Disney Vacation Club Members.  The added pixie dust of after-hours access to specific theme parks, Character experiences, getting on attractions with Lightning McQueen speed and all of those special treats adds a whole new world to a Disney vacation!

Shannon, while there isn't so much of a secret to getting tickets, I can tell you a thingamabob or two that might help you find the magic that you seek.   There are two ways you can access the queue for early registration for Moonlight Magic for eligible Members with a valid Disney Resort Hotel reservation.

The first option is you will get an email letting you know that you are eligible for Moonlight Magic because you hold a qualifying Disney Resort Hotel reservation during the dates of the event.  Mark your calendar for the date in the email as once it opens on that date, you'll want to click that blue button that says "Reserve Your Spot Now" BEFORE the registration time opens.  Now here's my pixie-dusted tip: Once you've clicked that button before the registration time opens, leave the page open (don't go back or refresh the page). Once it does open, usually at 11 a.m. you'll get right into the queue.

The other option is to visit the Disney Vacation Club Moonlight Magic page, where you should also note the date that registration opens. This is typically approximately five weeks ahead of the event or thereabouts, but the date is listed on the website.  As a Disney Vacation Club Resort Guest, you will have early access before the General Admission to Members who aren't staying at a qualifying Disney Resort.  You also want to mark this on your calendar, as the same tip applies. You will want to click "RSVP Online" before 11 a.m. on the date registration opens and don't refresh your screen.  You will then be taken into the queue.

Before the registration time opens for the event, Shannon, I recommend having on hand your DVC Membership Number, the date of your event, and the number of Guests attending with you handy.  Once it's your turn, you can register for the event, and bibbidi-bobbidi-boo, your Moonlight Magic tickets are booked for you.

I hope this helps you, Shannon. If I can assist with any other Disney Vacation Club or Disney vacation planning questions, stop back and see me here. I'll be so happy to help you because, here at planDisney, we are your vacation planning 'ohana. 'Ohana means family and that means nobody gets left behind.
