Although I booked our FP+ 60 days in advance, I overlooked the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and now those FP+ are sold out. What are the chances of a same day FP+? What time of day is usually best for standby?

Hi Elizabeth! I understand your frustration about missing out on a Seven Dwarfs Mine Train FastPass. I recently had to change the weeks for our vacation and that was the only attraction I was not able to change.

We had an early morning breakfast at Be Our Guest and I thought we would be able to walk out and be first in line for the attraction so I did not worry too much. Gulp! We left the restaurant and were outside the attraction at 8:05 which was only five minutes after the park opening and the wait time was listed as 45 minutes long. Needless to say we did not wait and will do it again in the fall.

I think that the initial wait time is due to the amount of FastPass+ they allow to be reserved for this ride. The Standby line might not look too long but if they only take a few guests every ten minutes you can see why the wait is 45 minutes. This was also during Easter week with the crowds at maximum so different times of year might be better.

I will still say that the best time is absolutely first thing in the morning or the last thing at night before the park closes. If the Magic Kingdom has Extra Magic Hours then by all means be sure and take advantage of that to get in that line. Plan on a wait and enjoy the queue area. It is always hard to wait so long for such a short ride but this attraction keeps growing in me every time I experience it. Check out more facts about the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
