Hey, Matthew!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! When Mickey throws a dessert party, he really throws a dessert party. I just got back from Walt Disney World Resort and attended
Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party and it was wonderful. We had a clear view of all fireworks but could not see
Celebrate the Magic Castle Show easily. If you want to see this show you will need head to the Plaza for the best views.
Currently, there are no cakes available for the dessert party other than the delicious mini-treats provided. I spoke with a Cast Member in Disney Dining and asked if you could bring in your own cake or treat. She said that due to health code requirements all food at the party must originally be handled by Disney Parks catering if it is to be served on the dining wear provided. You may bring your own cake to the party but you will need your own plasticware and plates due to the health code issues mentioned above.
Disney Dad Tip: If you are celebrating a special event, please let Disney Dining know by calling 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463). Some restaurants/dining parties have a special event or performance such as singing to the group or putting a candle on a dessert and some do not. Disney Dining will make a note on your reservation for the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party team and if they do something you should be all set for the surprise.
Please let me know if you have any other questions to make your Disney vacation more special.
Matthew, enjoy making many Magical Memories!
